Krystal Kuhn is an artist based in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Her paintings and drawings deal with the figure discovering and occupying nature as a physiological space. Using the untamed characteristics of nature as a metaphor for the struggles we run into as human beings, she aims to capture two types of physicality: body and territory, in one image. Painting allows her to visually represent moments of power, strength, trust and love. In recent works, she has explored the relationship between man, woman and the landscape. Although the work is representational and figurative, these images possess a dreamlike quality that lures the viewer in to discuss deeper notions of relation.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
